The Provost of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), Professor Ademola Oremosu, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, following a formal request by the College for a meeting.
The visit provided an opportunity for the College leadership to engage directly with the leadership of Lagos State Government on matters of strategic importance to the institution. During the meeting, the Provost formally presented three key requests requiring the intervention and support of the State Government. The requests, which were carefully outlined, are aimed at strengthening the College’s capacity to deliver on its mandate of excellence in medical education, research, and Community service.
Professor Oremosu highlighted the continued efforts of the College Management to sustain growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the learning and working environment for students and staff. He emphasized that the requests presented were made in the broader interest of institutional development and the advancement of healthcare education in Lagos State.
In his response, the Chief of Staff listened attentively to the submissions and expressed appreciation for the proactive approach of the College leadership. He acknowledged the visible efforts and commitment of the Management towards the development of the institution and described the requests as selfless and forward-looking. He assured the delegation that the matters raised would receive due consideration and appropriate follow-ups.
The Provost was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Provost, Professor Daniel Odebiyi, the College Secretary, Dr. Olayinka Obafemi-Moses, the Personal Assistant to the Provost, Mr. Lanre Rolfe-Olumide and other support staff.
The meeting reaffirmed the cordial relationship between the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and the Lagos State Government, and underscored the shared commitment to advancing medical education and healthcare delivery in the State.
