The Management of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) convened a Town Hall Meeting with students on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Old Great Hall of the College.
The interactive session, led by the Provost, Professor Ademola Oremosu, formed part of the College’s ongoing commitment to open dialogue, inclusiveness, and continuous enhancement of the student experience. In his opening remarks, the Provost expressed appreciation to the students for their strong participation and commended the leadership of the student body for facilitating constructive engagement. He reaffirmed that students remain central stakeholders in the life of the College and emphasized Management’s dedication to sustaining a supportive academic and welfare environment.
Speaking on behalf of the students, the President of the College of Medicine Students’ Association (COMPSSA), Mr. Emmanuel Apalowo, thanked the Management for providing a platform for meaningful dialogue. He noted that the opportunity for direct engagement demonstrates the College’s openness and responsiveness to student perspectives.
A number of issues and suggestions were subsequently raised during the meeting, covering academic, welfare, and campus-related matters. The atmosphere of the session reflected openness and mutual respect, with students contributing thoughtful input aimed at strengthening institutional processes and enhancing the overall learning environment.
In response, the Management team, led by the Provost, provided clarifications and updates, outlining ongoing and planned initiatives designed to strengthen infrastructure, improve learning facilities, and enhance student support systems. Professor Oremosu assured students that their feedback remains valuable in guiding policy direction and institutional development. The Town Hall Meeting once again underscored the College’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and the holistic wellbeing of its students, reinforcing a shared vision for a progressive and globally competitive College community.
