GIRL ON ANOTHER LEVEL (GOAL) NIGERIA FOUNDATION CAMPUS PANTRY UPLIFTS INDIGENT STUDENTS OF THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE, UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Girl on Another Level (GOAL) Nigeria Foundation Campus Pantry on Friday, 2nd June, 2023, distributed food stuffs and other items to the indigent students of the College of Medicine University of Lagos.

The GOAL Foundation was founded by an alumna of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Dr. Uchechukwu Daniella Adeola who is based in the United States of America. Dr. Adeola is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation and she was ably represented by her mother, Mrs. Charity Usifoh.

Mrs. Usifoh in her  remaks, thanked everyone and especially the College of Medicine Management for finding time to witness the event. She informed that they had done a similar event at the University main campus, Akoka and, that the idea behind the GOAL foundation is to give back to the society and empower indigent students of the University of Lagos. She therefore encouraged everyone to contribute to the foundation.

The Provost, Professor David Oke FAMeds, ably represented by the Deputy Provost, Professor O.A.T. Ebuehi, thanked and welcomed everyone to the event. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Management to the donor for putting smiles in the faces of indigent students of the College of Medicine.

Professor Ebuehi stated that the College of Medicine Management is reaching out to various organisations to support the Indigent Student Scheme of the College and praised the contributions of the GOAL Foundation, adding that it will go a long way in assisting the indigent students during this challenging time. 

The Director of Students’ Affairs, Professor O.A. Daramola, welcomed everyone and stated that the GOAL foundation was founded by an Alumna of the College of Medicine who graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. She thanked the founder and the management of the foundation for the initiative and used the occasion to encourage the present students to also give back to the College after graduation.

Present at the event were the; Director of Finance, Dr. S. A. Akinade, Ag. Medical Librarian, Dr. N. B. Ukachi, Director of Engineering Services, Engr. O. Oloyede and students of the College of Medicine.
