On 22nd of November, 2019 the Provost, Professor F.E.A. Lesi, received the Executive Director and Senior Advisor of Direct Relief Bhupi Signh to the College of Medicine University of Lagos. His visit was to provide support to the Vaseline Healing Project being carried out by the dermatology unit of the Department of Medicine, CMUL.
Direct Relief is a non-profit, non-partisan organization formed to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care. Bhupi Signh expressed his utmost satisfaction at the coordination of the Vaseline Healing Project by the Dermatology Unit, and he also hinted on other avenues through which Direct Relief can partner and assist the College.
The Provost welcomed the Executive Director and Senior Advisor to the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, and appreciated their assistance in the Vaseline Healing Project awarded to staff members to impact the community. He, therefore, encouraged for a partnership in establishing a diagnostics center in the Institution which will cater to the needs of the Lagos population and its host community.
Also in attendance were, Dr Olusola Ayanlowo Head of Department, Dr. Ayesha Akinkugbe, Vaseline Healing Project Coordinator, Dr. Erere Otrofanowei and Mr. O.O. Babatunde.
