Professor Wasiu Lanre Adeyemo of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Medicine of the University of Lagos/Lagos University Teaching Hospital has been awarded with the prestigious Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize for scientific excellence.
The Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize was established to recognize personal/team scientific excellence and is aimed at stimulating and rewarding excellence in Science, Technology, and Innovation. It is awarded to the scientist/s whose work has made the most impact in furthering the frontiers of knowledge and has made significant contributions to mankind with particular reference to the national context. It is the highest honour that the Academy would bestow on a Nigerian Scientist.
Prof. WasiuLanreAdeyemo, BDS, FMCDS, FWACS, PhD (Cologne.), FICS, MPA (Unilag), Dip. (Research Ethics), Certificate, Genetics and Genomics (Stanford University), Professor/Consultant, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Medicine/Lagos University Teaching Hospital is a prolific researcher and recipient of several research grants and awards both locally and internationally.
The Prize is made of a certificate, medal of recognition and a purse.
