The Unit is made up of:<br>\n<ol>\n<li>Students\u2019 Affairs Office<\/li>\n<li>Halls of Residence (Hostels)<\/li>\n<li>Counselling Unit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nEach of the above-named area is administered by constituted committees.\n\nI encourage all returning and new students to take advantage of the services offered by the Students\u2019 Affairs Unit to enrich their learning as they resume academic activities in the new session.<\/p>\n\n\n<strong>ACTIVITIES<\/strong><br>\n\n<p>The Students\u2019 Affairs Unit is run by highly qualified and trained staff headed by the Acting Director of Students\u2019 Affairs, Dr. O.B. Bankole from the Department of Surgery.<\/p>\n\n<strong> CORE DUTIES OF THE STUDENTS\u2019AFFAIRS UNIT:<\/strong><br>\n<ol>\n<li>The Unit oversees mostly the extra-curricular and social life of students on the campus.<\/li><br>\n\n<li>The Students\u2019 Affairs Unit:<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for students\u2019 guidance and counselling needs.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees the administration of Halls of Residence, including<\/li> accommodation of students.\n<li>Coordinates Students\u2019 Union activities including organizing Students\u2019 Representative Council elections and swearing-in of elected members of the executive.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates the mobilisation of prospective National Youth Service Corps members from the College.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees the disbursement of bursary awards to students by various organisations and state governments.<\/li>\n<li>Administers the Indigent Students\u2019 Fund which is meant to assist students from less priviledged backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>Is in the forefront of the fight against violent cultism and drug abuse which have destroyed the prospects of rather promising students.<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with the Teaching Hospital to assist students with special health issues.<\/li>\n<li>Tries as much as possible to resolve conflicts among students to ensure a peaceful atmosphere on the campus.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees all sports infrastructure and organization of sporting activities on the campus.<\/li>\n<li>Registers new associations and socio-cultural groups and monitors their activities.<\/li>\n<li>Processes the registration of Medical and Dental graduates with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Plays a leading role in the organization of induction ceremonies for students into the various medical professional bodies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-975cb62 elementor-widget__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\"
