Ebuehi, on behalf of the Provost, Professor David Adewale Oke, FAMedS, warmly welcomed the august visitors to their Alma Mater, and congratulated them on their 32nd Anniversary\/Reunion which availed them the opportunity to come back home and celebrate their achievements as worthy ambassadors of the foremost Medical College in Nigeria, the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He also acknowledged their achievements and contributions in their various fields of endeavours across the globe, while appreciating some of them who are still within the College holding forth for their colleagues in the diaspora.<\/p>\n\n<p>He therefore commended the CMUL Alumni Association Worldwide for their unwavering support and donations to the College over the years, noting that steering the affairs of the College had been an uphill task due to paucity of funds that prompted the Management to reach out to the Alumni, philanthropic individuals, corporate organizations, friends of the College and others for support to improve the decaying infrastructure.<\/p> \n\n<p>He reiterated that the College had been very fortunate for having donations and support from the various Alumni sets and thanked 1991 class for coming back to the College.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Chairman, CMUL Alumni Association Caretaker Committee, Professor A.A. Oremosu expressed his excitement meeting members of the 1991 Graduating Class and thanked God that they are alive to celebrate their 32nd anniversary and reunion. He appreciated them for their choice of Lagos for the August occasion of the reunion in order to visit the College and see things around and commended the giant strides being achieved by the College of Medicine, University of Lagos Alumni globally.<\/p>\n\n<p>He noted that Nigeria is undergoing transition as the government is beginning to see that it cannot maintain a low tuition fee with quality education and enjoined the College of Medicine Alumni to continue to support their Alma Mater as the strength of any institution rest squarely with its Alumni. He also appealed to the members of 1991 Alumni class to come on board with other sets to form a strong central Alumni Association to elect a substantive executive that would take over from the caretaker committee that had been in place for the past two years.<\/p>\n\n<p>Delivering his remarks, the President of the 1991 Graduating Class, Dr. Vincent Ahonsi, appreciated the Provost, and the Management of the College for the warm reception, and stated that the 1991 Alumni Class is a friend of the College, adding that the set had in the past renovated four blocks in the Medical Students Hostels and also donated Dental chairs to the Faculty of Dental Sciences.<\/p>\n\n<p>He further stated that their visit to the College was to interact with the Management and Students so as to understand the needs and report back to the main group and decide on the right step.<\/p>\n\n<p>Present at the event were the College Secretary, Dr. O. A. Obafemi-Moses, FNIM, Director of Finance Dr. S.A.
