The Provost, Professor F.E.A. Lesi, on Monday, February 17, 2020, flagged off the 2019/2020 Orientation programme for freshers in the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. The 5-day long programme engaged the undergraduates in familiarizing themselves with the University key points while also reading out the rules and regulations of the College.The Provost in his short address welcomed the undergraduates who just crossed over from the University of Lagos and gave them a brief history of the College of Medicine. He urged them to make use of the opportunity created by the Medical Education Development Unit (MEDU) to teach them in the best possible way. He also informed them that the College has zero-tolerance for indiscipline, use of drugs, vandalization of college properties among other vices and to take their academics seriously.
The Director of (MEDU) Professor A.C. Mbakwem informed the students that they have lectures that will equip them on their journey in the College.
On Thursday, February 19, 2020, the Deputy Provost, Professor S.R.A. Akinbo, performed the White Coat Ceremony to welcome the Undergraduates into the College officially. The College Secretary Mr. O.A. Obafemi-Moses, FNIM also prayed for the undergraduates while Professor A.A. Oremosu anchored the programme. In attendance were Mr. S.A. Akinade (Director of Finance), Engr. N.I. Sobande (Director of Engineering) and Mr. Kayode Owotutu (Deputy College Secretary, Academic Affairs).
