On Thursday, October 24th 2019, the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) Association of Certified Secretaries & Data Processing Officers (ASDPO) University of Lagos Chapter organized its 1st Annual Lecture at the Alumni Center, CMUL, Idi-Araba, Lagos.The theme of its 1st Annual Lecture is “Career Path and Development of a Certified Secretarial Profession in the 21st Century”. The President of the Association Noble A. O. Alaba appreciated the Management of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos during her opening address while also recognizing their retirees and other members of ASDPO for their doggedness and diligence in performing their duties.

The Provost, Professor F.E.A. Lesi, the Chief host apologised on behalf of Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, Vice Chancellor (UNILAG) and Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development Services) for their inability to attend due to official engagement. He appreciated the members enthusiasm to work and their impact in the development of College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He therefore, urged them to flow with the wind of change in their profession and continue to be diligent in their specific roles. The College Secretary, Mr. O. A. Obafemi-Moses also appreciated their professionalism at work and continue on the path of development in their career.

The Guest Lecturer, Dr. Olorunmaiye is a Lecturer in the Business Education Unit, Department of Arts and Social Sciences of the University of Lagos. He delivered a sublime lecture titled “Professionalism in Secretarial and Information Services” by sharing from his wealth of experience with the members. Also, representing Professor P. Ojinni, Head, Department of Medicine, CMUL was Dr Amira to deliver a lecture on Kidney problem, Causes and Solutions. 

The Chairman Organizing Committee, Noble C. Akpeji gave the vote of thanks while the Master of Ceremony was Noble Akinremi.

Also, in attendance are Mr. Kayode-Owotutu (Deputy College Secretary, Academic Staff Unit), Mrs Popoola (Chief Internal Auditor) amongst others
