The Management of the College of Medicine of the University held Award Night Ceremony in honour of all the best graduating students in the various faculties in the College and the Faculty of Pharmacy. The event, which was presided over by the Provost, Professor F. T. Ogunsola, witnessed the presentation of Certificate to the Awardees took place on Sunday, 4th September, 2016 at the New Great Hall.
In her speech the Provost, Professor F. T. Ogunsola said the Management of the College has always given honour to those graduating students who have distinguished themselves in academic performances. While congratulating the awardees, she enjoined them to continue to be best in their working experience and future endeavours as colleagues in the Medical practice.
Earlier in his welcome remark, the College Secretary, Oladejo Azeez, Esq., noted that the event afforded the graduating students the opportunity to interact with the Management of the College who has deemed it necessary to recognize the best amongst the graduating students. He said that the Management of the University also recognize and support the Award Night.
The event also witnessed messages of goodwill from the Deans of Faculties present to the awardees, among who were Professor O.A. Magbagbeola, Basic Medical Sciences; Professor O.O. Sofola, Dental Sciences and Dr. Olugbenle Dada, representing Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor B.O. Silva and Director of Students Affairs,Professor F.B.Akinsola
The following graduards were presented with awards in the various categories: Windapo Oluwakemi Bolanle (Best Graduating Student in Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynaecology); Ogunmola Isaac Omolade(Best Graduating Student in Surgery); Ehimhen Chad Ehizien (Best Graduating Student in Paediatrics); Onyegbosi Chidinma Joy (Best Graduating Student in Physiotherapy); Smith Ayoola Babalola (Best Graduating Student in Faculty of Pharmacy) and Odu Yewande Adeyinka (Best Graduating Student in Physiology)
Others are Adamson Mariam Folasade (Best Graduating Student in Pharmacology), Abiodun Olalekan Clement (Best Graduating Student in Medical Laboratory Science); Ajie Nkoyiren Adefunke (Best Graduating Student in Restorative Dentistry); Ali Babatunde Yusuf (Best Graduating Student in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Biology); Adeoye John Ademola (Best Graduating Student in Preventive Dentistry) and Doyeni Oluwafolayemi Ololade (Best Graduating Student in Public Health).
