COLLEGE OF MEDICINE MANAGEMENT VISITS SIR KESINGTON ADEBUTU AND MR &MRS. AKPANI
As a follow-up to the MEDILAG Alumni Fundraising Dinner held in February 2019, the College of Medicine Management visited of the distinguished friends of the College for their collaboration and support for the rejuvenation campaign to move the College of Medicine to greater heights.
The College of Medicine Management led by the Provost, Professor F.E.A. Lesi, and our Distinguished Alumnus, Professor Oladapo Ashiru visited Sir Kesington Adebutu and Mrs. Winifred Akpani who had promised at the fundraising dinner to take up Projects in the College to support Medical Education and Research. The College of Medicine Management had been in close communication with both of them and the visit was to solidify the plans and set the ball rolling.
At the residence of Sir Adebutu, he expressed his happiness for the recognition and honour bestowed on him by the College of Medicine Management and he reiterated his willingness to invest in Medical Education and Research. He also enjoined other well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos to break more frontiers in Medical Research.
Similarly, Mrs. Winifred Akpani and her husband who were at the Fundraising Dinner were appreciated for their kind gesture and support shown by their family to the College of Medicine in the area of Medical Research. The Provost noted that the Akpani family had been advocating for better Healthcare delivery in Nigeria and he thanked them for collaborating with the College to impact positively in Healthcare delivery. The highlight of the visit was the redemption of Mrs. Akpani’s pledge of Twenty Million (N20 Million) Naira.
On behalf of the Management, Staff, and Students, we appreciate Sir Kesington Adebutu and Mr. & Mrs. Akpani for their support for the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and we wish them well in all their endeavors.

Akinade, Principal Assistant Secretary (Admin & Tech) Barrister Adebimpe Odeniyi, Principal Assistant Secretary (Provost Office), Mr. Olumuyiwa Odubunmi, Corporate Affairs unit, Mrs. Peace Ajunwa and Mr. Ayodeji Alaba.
