The College of Medicine of the University of Lagos (CMUL) inducted 39 fresh Physicians on Friday 16th September, 2016 at the Old Great Hall.
In his remark, the College Secretary, Oladejo Azeez, Esq., congratulated the inductees for successfully completing their programme urging them to be good ambassadors of the College. According to him, the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos is renowned for producing some of the best graduates in the world and also parades some of the best hands in various disciplines.
In her address, the Provost, Professor F. T. Ogunsola implored the graduands to be creative in their professional practice by going all out to do exploit and be great ambassadors of the College. She noted that they deserved to be celebrated as combat troops who have been trained to fight ill health and diseases ravaging human lives on many fronts. She said that by their training, they have been given responsibility, not just certificates as doctors who should put smile on the faces of their patients. According to her, they should put their patients first before themselves, adding that they needed all the passion required for their professional calling.
She then congratulated the teachers in the College for moulding kind minds and characters for the noble profession.
The highlight of the event was the Oath Taking which was administered by the Provost, Prof. Ogunsola and the the presentation of Practicing Licences to the graduands. She then charged them to go into the world to give hope to their patients and carry along with them the arsenal of integrity in their professional practice.
Present at the occasion were the Deputy Provost, Prof. S. R. A. Akinbo, Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Professor J. D. Adeyemi, Director, Students Affairs, Professor F. B. Akinsola and Deputy College Secretary (ASU), Mr. G. K. Ajunwa among others.
